Fantastic bit of kit. Lightweight, easy to use and powered directly from the USB port so that you don’t need any external power supply. The USB 3.0 connection means that data transfer is quick and if like me you want it for holding films and music then you don’t get any buffering. I matched mine with

Well, it’s WD elements with 2TB segment. I have been using the older one from last 3 years and now comes the kid. It’s slim and light, but with same storage. It’s quite advancements. Posted Crystal Disk mark under USB 2.0. Rest, it’s worth money. Will update after a year.

I have 2 gripes: 1st – Disk management reports 1.3TB for a 1.5TB – drive
haven’t done the sums but it’s high time manufacturers gave acceptable universal sizes?
2nd – Do not like the usb type interface, (something I overlooked) It’s awkward to push the cable into the connector and once in, it does not appear to be well connected ? Bought for someone so I fully expect problems!!! The drive works fine hence 4 stars -Will update

Ordered this on freedom sale and got this for only 3600. I was deciding between WD or Seagate but ended up on this as WD is somewhat more reputable than the latter.
Now coming onto the HDD it’s as good as it can be , the read write speeds are amazing and touches 100 MBps when copying one big file but slows down when copying multiple smaller file but this is not a fault of HDD so it’s all good. LED notification light is also not that aggressively lit so you can easily work at night in dark. No vibration or any annoying sounds so it’s definitely a plus.
One thing I didn’t like that much is the build quality. The plastic used is cheap and flimsy and does not feel sturdy in hand so if it falls down goodbye forever. Plastic quality could have been better.
You need to register you Product at WD portal to avail warranty in future so do that as soon as you get it. It provides 2 years warranty instead of 3 years like Seagate so that’s also somewhat off-putting.
So overall nice for cheap unimportant data backup but I wouldn’t trust this for important sensitive personal data as build quality is cheap but biggest plus is its affordability in fact go for Seagate or WD they both are good.
Well so far so good but if any problem arise in future will update… happy Independence day.

Got this product within a day, when tried to register with WD support the customer care executive told me that’s it s an internal laptop hard drive which was surprising when it was External hard drive, later asked him to check the warranty for the same & he told it’s not covered under warranty since it is an OME (original equipment manufacturer) which does not have any warranty from WD.

Cheap quality product corrupted easily within two years seriously the quality is degrading with time, it is very sad to see a poweful company producing low quality hard disk, lost entire data and wasted my money too.. never ever gonna trust this company again…

The best value for storage capacity I could find. I went for the 1.5tb which is the perfect size for me, I like the unit it is small and looks neat on my console.
Also, to the seller’s credit, they bypassed the Amazon shipping and just sent me this through DPD. I’m writing this at time of COVID19, the Amazon delivery time suggested it would arrive in over 2 weeks, took 2 days with DPD ?.

very poor product… hard drive did not even detected in my PC. I tried in o4 other PCs also… but same result…I m very much disappointed with Amazon as I have gifted this hard disk to my sister on occasion of Rakhi . I will suggest not to buy this from amazon.

Purchased this to use with the Ravpower file hub to back up pictures from the DSLR so far no issues what so ever, even connected to the pc its seen straight away and have never had any issues trying to disconnect it from the pc unlike seagate drives that constantly say the drive is in use. Would recommened for anyone looking for a small backup drive for their photography needs or just as a back up drive for their computer.

Good one. 1.36TB free for high speed data transfer. This WD Elements HD usually meets around 60-90Mbps with USB 2.0 and 100-140Mbps with USB 3.0 (black and blue ports respectively) on my Windows running HP Core i3 laptop.
There is no cloud backup option available for the data stored and no WD software(like WDSecurity) supports this WD Elements HDD. These option are available for premium WD products only. So you have to believe yourself and the device completely for the data stored inside―woa nothing to worry, be sure at the platform you connect this and be safe from threats and virus programs.
Light weight and pocket sized, on the other hand it would break into pieces once if it falls to ground from 1-2mts height. This product can’t survive severe shocks without an air filled cover bag protection.
Works great for Haier LED TV and not yet detected on my Redmi Note. Maybe I would need a standard data transfer cable. The quality of cable code comes with the pack is excellent!!

Overall I am really satisfied with this product and I recommend this one for everyone.
UPDATE: “No change in data transfer speed even after six months use. Still as good as received. Hats off Western Digitals” ?????
